ABOUT US
The LGDBBS is pioneer society in the field of medical & Health services in Bhandara District & It was established in 2003 (Registration No. F-9133) with the prime objective to promote social & educational activity for general public. The Smt. K. N. Patel College of Nursing was established by The LGDBBS in 2006 to provide effective & efficient nursing education.
THE PHILOSOPY
Philosophy is one of the most essential components in the structural hierarchy of nursing curriculum for our Trust and College. The philosophy of a nursing school defines the value statements about both the practice and the teaching of nursing. In other words, philosophy describes what the school faculty believes about the equation of nursing. The philosophy also reflects the values, belief, goals or opinions as agreed by the members of the school and Society. Philosophy and education have a very close relationship, while education is the active side and deals with the concrete. Philosophy is contemplative side and deals with the abstract. The philosophies of education give direction to the aim of education, like idealism, naturalism, and pragmatism. The philosophy of nursing education determines the aims, objectives, contents, method of teaching and education. It deals with beliefs and values with regard to man as a learner, educator, nurse or patient. In addition it also deals with beliefs about society, nursing, health etc. We believe that we have a responsibility for the all round development of the students.,,,,
OUR VISION
To provide good quality education to create ample of opportunities for the youth of nursing professional and to excel their performance in the areas of life sciences and aid them to their fullest potentials to serve the mankind effectively and efficiently.
AIMS
- Provide an innovative and academically challenging experience in order to meet the Health care demand globally.
- Prepare students to assume responsibilities as nurse specialists, consultants, educators, administrators in a wide variety of professional settings.
- Prepare nurses with a sound educational program in nursing to enable them to function as efficient members of the health team.
- Help Nurses develop an ability to co-operate and co-ordinate with members of the health team in the prevention of disease, promotion of health and rehabilitation of the sick.
- Serve as a base for further professional education and specialization in nursing.
- Assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses and midwives at basic level in providing promotive, preventive, curative service.
OBJECTIVES
- Assess the nursing need of citizens from birth to death.
- Plan and carry out appropriate action to meet nursing needs.
- Apply problem solving techniques in nursing practice.
- Apply knowledge from the humanity, biological and behavioral sciences in functioning as a nurse.
- Recognize the need for continuing education for professional development.
- Demonstrate basic skills in teaching patients and giving nursing care to them.
- Demonstrate interest in continued learning for personal and professional advancement.
PRESIDENT NOTE
There may be, perhaps, many obstacles in reaching your educational goals. Many of you must have overcome these obstacles as a result of your own determination. While many things you may have learnt from your teacher so far, how you use these information in your career and in later life depends on your unique needs, interests and experiences of your life. Whatever your needs and interests of life you must certainly be expecting that the kind of equation, especially in Nursing education you receive should be such that it equips you with Medical Nursing knowledge as well as skills required for meeting the challenges of Nursing job. With a very modest beginning from 2006, the Smt. K. N. Patel College of Nursing, Bhandara, Envisaged by LGDBBS is on Endeavour to provide quality education and training with an intention to increase the members of qualified nurses in the country. The students of this college would gain tremendous insights and practical training through their orientation program and posting at Parent Hospital, Government Hospital, Primary Health Centre etc. The management committee of LGDBBS have been instrumental in establishing Nursing College and providing facilities in Bhandara, that will greatly enhance the availability of Nursing professionals & Health care facility in the region.
