GNM

The study program of GNM Nursing (General Nursing and Midwifery) also, in short called GNM, focuses on educating students on the topics of general health care and midwifery in the field of nursing. The GNM study program is meant to prepare, general nurses who can efficiently perform as members of the health team and who are capable, and can deal the competencies and challenges in both the hospitals, clinics and other such organizations. The learning program is to inculcate the knowledge about patient care, medicines and rehabilitation. This is definitely a job oriented course, in which the student can later upgrade her/him self’s to higher studies in the streams of nursing. After completing this course, successful candidates may register themselves as registered nurse or midwife with the state nurse registration council.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

1. Minimum education eligibility criteria for admission to GNM

  • 10+2 passing preferably Science & English with aggregate of 40% marks from any recognized board.
  • Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government
  • 10+2 vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council
  • 10+2 Health care Science – Vocational stream from a recognized CBSE board/State/Centre.
  • Duration for course : 3 Years

2 . Reservation - 5% is relaxed in 10+2 aggregate % for SC/ST candidates.

3. Minimum age for admission will be 17 years. (as on 31st December of that year) The upper age limit is 35 yrs.
